Did someone say chocolate?!
It’s funny because I used to not be a huge fan of chocolate but these days I’m hooked. Usually when I have a craving for something sweet and chocolatey my go to are those skinny cow ice cream bars. My favorite are the chocolate truffle ones. They’re delicious and only 100 calories. As much as I LOVE those bars sometimes they just don’t seem to be enough. For those moments I feel like a mug cake is the perfect treat! I actually just recently came across mug cakes so I’m totally late on this fad but better late than never right? I’m an avid fan of cake but my problem is I can never have just one slice. Mug cake is personal sized which is so great because that means you get to eat the whole thing yourself without an ounce of guilt. Bonus is that it’s cooked in the microwave so hardly any waiting for this dessert. I experimented with many different methods to cook the cake and after a couple major fails I realized my favorite was cooking the cake in a bowl rather than a mug. In a bowl the cake cooked evenly and turned out super moist. This recipe has definitely become a staple for me when I’m having an intense sugar craving. I don’t believe in depriving yourself of the foods you love. It’s about finding balance and a healthier portion. That way you can eat your cake and still fit into your skinny jeans!
